Iris de Champs is the new floral/woody fragrance from Houbigant. The fragrance opens on notes of pink pepper, rose, lily of the valley to evolve into a rich heart of jasmine and iris. A sophisticated woody base with sandalwood and vanilla completes this unique and elegant pyramid.
Surprisingly, it is not the sublime flower, but rather the underground part that guards this olfactory treasure; the rhizome, the root of the flower, contains Irone, a unique, fragrant and rich molecule that makes up the iris note.
The extraction process of Iris is very long and delicate. The plant must grow for 3 years before being picked. The rhizome, from which the “beurre” is then collected, must dry for at least three years before the perfumer can proceed with the extraction. Its scent is extraordinarily rich, almost invasive, with powdery nuances, and shows its green and woody aspects, evoking a comforting scent of freshly baked bread.
Top notes are lily-of-the-valley, bergamot, pink pepper, pear and rose; middle notes are iris, ylang-ylang and jasmine; base notes are musk, woodsy notes, sandalwood, vanilla and amber.
